Thank you from MiracleAir

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:15-16

As we look back on 2022 we are so grateful for your consistent prayers and support. We can't help but think of Teresa, a single mother of two children. During the recent hurricane her house was completely destroyed. We met her one day when we were in town and she showed us pictures of her fallen down house where they continue to live (see pictures). Can you imagine living in a house like this with your family? Teresa and many others have no choice. We are thankful that many of you provided funds so we were able to purchase new zinc and nails for a new roof. Teresa, together with her family will rebuild the wooden structure but were unable to afford the zinc and nails. What a joy it is to help these people, especially at this time of year.

Just a few days after we returned to Nicaragua in October, Hurricane Julia devastated the Caribbean coast. It was very sobering to experience this powerful storm and the few minutes of calm as the eye passed directly over our location, followed by even more intense, violent winds as the storm continued on. In its wake, it left incredible destruction. Because of your support, we were able to provide emergency food rations for many families who otherwise would have gone hungry following the hurricane. There is still much that needs to be done in these communities to recover from this storm.

Another project we are praising God for is the evangelism outreach effort that is ongoing. Over the summer two pallets of Great Controversy books, one in Spanish and the other in English, were donated. With your help we shipped them, along with hundreds of Bible study guides to Nicaragua. In total, over 5600 books are changing lives in Nicaragua. This shipment arrived just one day before hurricane Julia and we feared that the container had been flooded as the port was underwater. Miraculously, our container remained dry. We are actively distributing these books to other small churches and the three Adventist missions in Nicaragua. Together with the local church, we have sponsored three young Bible workers into a community north of us where they will be working for the next three months. The church plans to follow up with an evangelistic campaign and we are anticipating that many peope will be blessed.

Sponsored students from Puerto Cabezas

We continue to assist the Cohutta church in Tennessee to sponsor needy children in Puerto Cabezas and Bluefields to attend the Adventist school. This past year there were 24 half scholarships and 9 full scholarships for students. Over the past 7 years since we've been assisting with this project over 180 students have received scholarships to assist with their education. These students, some of whom plan to be teachers, doctors, and even a hair stylist are so very grateful for the opportunity to study at an Adventist Christian school. There are always more students needing financial aid than there are scholarships. If you would like to help just mark your donation for "Student Scholarships".

This year we coordinated a dental trip, together with the Lee family and two local dentists, to the remote village of Krin Krin where there had not been a dentist for 6 years. We were able to treat over 130 patients with fillings, extractions, and dental cleanings. It was wonderful to serve these people and to conduct a Vacation Bible School for the children there. In addition, we conducted dental health education in many schools and communities around Nicaragua. Later on in the year, our daughter, Melanie, was able to participate in several dental trips on the Caribbean Grace, a 40 ft catamaran mission boat, that operates along the coast of Nicaragua. Hundreds of families who had no access to dental care received free treatment.

Bible workers ready to deploy

We are so grateful for your support and prayers on behalf of the people of Nicaragua. We are amazed at what God has done! We may never know the full impact until we get to heaven, but we estimate that over 1000 people have been positively affected through the work of MiracleAir in 2022 thanks to your support. Praise God!

Ways you can help

  • The most important support you can give us is to pray for the people of Nicaragua. See the section below for a complete list of praises and prayer requests.

  • MiracleAir, along with local Adventist churches, is supporting three Bible workers in the small coastal village of La Barra. Our plan is that they will be there for a 3 month period after which the local pastor will follow up with an evangelistic campaign. Including the shipping of the 5,600 books, stipends, travel and food expenses we are still needing about $5,000 of the $10,000 we budgeted for this project. Give Now

  • Even though we love funding special projects like evangelism and emergency disaster relief, none of this work would be possible without our being here. We still need funds to cover our daily living expenses. A huge thank you to those who are supporting us financially, we are so grateful to each one of you. If you're not already doing so, please consider giving even a small donation on a monthly basis. Even $10 or $20 each month will make a significant difference. Setup a Monthly Donation
