Looking to the Future

All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His Purpose. Romans 8:28

Blessed by Giving

It was the morning of Christmas Eve and we were all tired and exhausted. We had arrived at our home in Pearl Lagoon, Nicaragua just the day before after a difficult 2 day drive from Costa Rica where Nancy had been having her post cancer medical checkups. Now Christmas was upon us and there was hardly any time to make the preparations we had wanted to do. We sat around the table complaining for a few minutes when someone said, "Why don't we do something to brighten up Christmas for people right here in Pearl Lagoon?" Ideas began flying back and forth and before long we settled on an activity we had done in the past. The people here love to bake at Christmas time so we quickly made arrangements to purchase 250 lbs of flour that we divided into 20 bags to be given to the most needy. It was the right decision, our whole attitude had changed and our focus was back where it should be, on helping others. There was no more complaining and we learned that it really is "...more blessed to give than to receive" Acts 20:35.

Andrew Hosford

One of the tough periods in a missionaries life is the time between when you first decide to go as a missionary and the date that you actually leave. Because being a missionary is not simple and takes lots of preparation this period can span years, not just months. All missionaries experience this and Andrew's situation is no different. We are so excited that Andrew will be flying into Costa Rica on January 11 and then making his way to Nicaragua. We are all looking forward to him coming including Steven (our son) as they have plans to create some very amazing videos with some new camera equipment he will be bringing for MiracleAir. Check out his blog at AirwaysOfHope.com

A Special Prayer Request

Friends, we're sure you'll agree it's time that this beautiful red floatplane come to Nicaragua. We know that God's timing is always perfect. The personal challenges of Nancy's health this past year would have made it difficult for us to have been ready to begin flight operations. We ask you to pray everyday that God will open the doors so this plane can be serving the people along the remote eastern coast of Nicaragua very soon!

An Important Update

Not all the news we have to share is joyful. After coming to a mutual decision with the LaRoys, we are sad that Keith & Jennifer and their two girls will be leaving MiracleAir. They have decided that they will seek other opportunities in mission service in Latin America after completing their language training in Costa Rica the end of April. MiracleAir is committed to making this transition as easy as possible. The remaining funds raised by very generous donors on behalf of the LaRoys will be made available to them as allowed by the rules specified by the IRS and Canada Revenue Service. This will be administered by AngelOne, the registered charity supporting MiracleAir. We thank the LaRoys for the energy and enthusiasm they have brought to our project. We will be praying for them and are excited to see what God has in store for them.

Please direct specific questions regarding the LaRoy's plans and how you can continue supporting them to keith@timeformission.org.

Donation Doubling Matched!

A few weeks ago we told you of a generous donor who offered to DOUBLE all donations from new donors to the Hansen Family up to $10,000 till December 31. We are happy to let you know that you stepped up to the challenge and we have exceeded that goal. Thank you to each one of you for your generous support!

If you would like to inspire others to give and set up a matching donation please let us know!

Prayer Requests & Praises

We praise God for:

  • The recent medical checkups that Nancy had in Costa Rica and that she is feeling better and cancer free.

  • His continued protection from Covid and other diseases even in the midst of the pandemic.

  • The faithful prayers and support of our many donors.

  • Our son Andrew who will be visiting us in January and that we'll have the whole family together for a little while.

Please pray for:

  • Permissions to be granted early in the New Year. We want to make this an earnest matter of prayer, we believe God will be opening the door soon!

  • The LaRoys as they begin their new missionary journey!

  • Andrew Hosford who will be arriving in Nicaragua in January.

Thank you, once again, to each one of you who love and care for us. We are honored to be working with you in God’s mission field.

Wishing each of you a very Happy New Year!
