Pausing to Remember
October 15, 2023
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
1st Thesalonians 4:16-17
Dear Friend,
At the time of our last writing, Nancy was in Panama spending precious time with her mother, Nory Garcia Marenko de Ruiloba. We are extra grateful she was able to go when she did, as there were only a few short weeks for her to spend before her dear mother fell asleep in Jesus on September 20th. A touching funeral service was held on September 24 where we were able to share so many memories of Mom's life and her commitment to Jesus and service to His church. Unfortunately our children were unable to attend but we are grateful Norman was able to be there as well as Nancy's brother, father and many other family members and friends.
After the funeral we had several business items to care for before the long journey back to Canada. We arrived home a couple of weeks ago and are continuing the grieving process while preparing for departure to the South Pacific. There is still much to do so we covet your prayers as we work to check the items off our list as quickly as possible.
Norman still intends to brush up on his instrument flying skills and is planning to complete his Instrument Proficiency Check soon.
For all the latest news please check out the following video. We are also including the music video that Steven recorded last Christmas of Melanie and Nancy. It's been alot of work but we praise God it is finally done.
Prayer Requests & Praises
We praise God for:
Protecting us in ways we do not even know and for safe travels as we have been moving so much this past 5 months.
The love and support of each one of you who encourage us through every challenge that we have faced.
Please pray for:
Faith to trust God's leading in this new phase of mission work.
Continuing to care for our children who are all studying at university this year. That He will protect their minds and hearts as they prepare their lives for service.
The sale of our small utility trailer in Nicaragua so the proceeds can be used to support our Bible worker on the Caribean coast.
Healing for Nancy and her family after the passing of her dear mother.
Norman's Instrument Proficiency Check ride and flight medical.
May God continue to richly bless each one of you as we work together in preparation for Jesus' soon return.
