Return to Nicaragua

Dear Friends,
In a few short days we will return to Nicaragua. We have been in Canada for the summer, reconnecting with donors, fundraising, and getting ready for another year in the mission field. In August, we attended the ASI convention in Florida which was a huge blessing. For those of you that may not know, ASI provides a great way to meet with other like minded people who are committed to mission and sharing their faith with others. It’s also a great way to spread awareness of MiracleAir and find support. After ASI we took our daughter, Melanie, to Southern Adventist University in Tennessee where she has started her first year of Elementary Education. All in all it’s been a very busy time but we feel refreshed and ready to return to Nicaragua.
While we were at the ASI convention we began a search for English Bibles to take back with us to Nicaragua. We were also looking for other resources such as “The Great Controversy”, “Steps to Christ” and Bible study guides that would help the local church in their evangelism efforts. As a result of this search we came into contact with Rudy Harnisch from Amazing Facts Canada who had donated materials to us several years ago. He offered to supply us with the Bibles we needed and in response to our request for the Great Controversy, he offered us two full pallets of them at no cost, one in English and the other in Spanish. We were only planning on purchasing several hundred. Instead he offered us over 5,600 books!!! We are truly amazed at this new door that God has opened up to us and we feel that he is clearly directing us to return to Nicaragua to work with the local missions and churches and that we should sponsor local Bible workers to go out into remote communities to share the gospel of Jesus and to open up new churches where possible.
For those of you who may not be familiar with the great controversy, this is a book that has really had an impact on our lives. It outlines the war that is going on behind the scenes between God and Satan and helps us discover what our priorities should be in the chaotic world that we are living in.
Friends, these books and Bibles will be a huge blessing to the people of Nicaragua. We believe that lives will be changed for eternity as a result of this project. We are asking for your prayers as this shipment is scheduled to go out at the end of September. We are also planning on sponsoring local bible workers who will take these materials into remote communities along the coast of Nicaragua. These Bible workers already speak the local languages and can easily live in these communities. To cover the cost of shipping and sponsoring bible workers we will need $10,000 US dollars. This is a small investment that will yield large returns and an incredible opportunity for you to get involved with front line mission work that will have eternal consequences. We will be travelling with the local workers into these remote communities and sending back video updates. Friends, simply put, we can’t do this without your help. We know many of you are wondering what's happened to our beautiful float plane. We have not abandoned our plans to begin flying in Nicaragua. We will continue working with local Government agencies to obtain permission so we can begin flight operations. This plane was donated over 2 years ago and there is a tremendous need as the coastal region has very few roads. Please pray, pray earnestly that this plane will soon be flying in Nicaragua.
Friends, one thing we know for certain is that our world is in a state like we’ve never seen before. We believe that Jesus will come back very soon, just as He has promised. Thank you for joining with us as we work to bring the good news of salvation and God’s love to the people of Nicaragua.

The most important support you can give us is to pray for us. Ask that we can be filled by the Holy Spirit and follow his divine leading. What an encouragement it is when we are told that we are prayed for EVERY day.
MiracleAir plans to support a local missionary over a 6 month period that would work in the communities surrounding Pearl Lagoon. The missionary would receive a small stipend of approximately $200 per month and we would budget an additional amount per month that can be used for travel and conducting evangelism. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for this outreach project that will cover the cost of shipping the materials and the local salaries for the missionaries.
